"The Aamazing Spider-Man" this is what Marvel Comics is going to call the fourth Spider-Man movie. The movie is kind of a remake of the first Spider-Man movie only this time, they are coming at us with a different angle. The movie is more of the “untold story” of Spider-man’s younger years, Marvel and Sony do stress that a lot, it takes us through how Peter Parker discovered and explored his new found super powers, the first villain he encounters in this movie is the lizard Dr. Connors’ alter ego. Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield) is on a quest to find out what happened to his parents Richard and Mary Parker (Campbell Scott; Embeth Davidz).
The entire cast has been recast and some new characters have been added for this fourth movie in the franchise, they changed everything from Peter Parker himself to the tights he wears. Peter’s love interest Mary-Jane has been replaced with Gwen Stacey (Emma Stone) in this version of the movie, you get the feeling that the movie makers are trying to show Parker as a more developed character as opposed to some skinny kid who just happened to get bit by a mutant spider that gave him super powers. As a Spider-Man fan I get the sense that Sony and Marvel are pretending that the last three movies did not exist…
This stunt by the Spider-Man franchisors does not inspire much confidence in the franchise itself; it has most probably lost its loyal client base, this discourages loyal fans who had grown to love Tobey Maguire’s ugly face from going to watch the movie, I for one am willing to wait for the DVD. The official “The Amazing Spider-Man” website (www.theamazingspiderman.com) has only but trailors, photo’s and the release date for the movie, can you say bad PR. This movie has to be the least anticipated movie in the history of least anticipated movies since the singing chipmunks movie or “DARK KNIGHT RISES” (Batman).
I am looking forward to the release of the movie. It sounds interesting since now they gonna give us a little preview of his childhood.
